The Obituary of our colleague Engineer Assunosi
Mr. Assunosi gained a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1980 from the University of Tulsa - Oklahoma, in the United States of America. He started his career with Oxy Oil Company from 1980 to 1985 as an Operation Engineer in Operations Department. In 1985-1988, NOC seconded Mr. Assunosi to Agip Oil Company as a Project Engineer to participate in the implementation of the offshore Bouri oil field project. In 1988-1999 worked for RAS Lanuf Petrochemical Company as a Petrochemical Section Supervisor in the Projects Department and as a Member of the Tenders Committee. In 2000-2003, he was seconded to Agip Oil Company to participate in the implementation of the West Libya Gas Project, where he involved in supervising the basic and FEED studies for gas plants at Mellitah site, as well as a Member of the Main Tender Committee.
During the years 2004 - 2013, he worked with Tam Oil Company in Switzerland as a Senior Project Engineer and supervised the implementation and management of many projects.
During the years 2014-2017, he was assigned to work in the Maintenance and Project Department team at the General Management Administration for operations and follow-up at the National Oil Corporation where he was then assigned to follow-up and supervise the operations and projects of the Mellitah Oil and Gas Company (Gas Branch). He was assigned during this period to Chair a committee to study projects to increase gas supplies to local market, during that he supervised the implementation of the first phase of gas pressure reduction station of Green Stream to increase gas supplies to the local market. He was seconded to Green Stream Company in 2018 to occupy the position of Project Manager to oversee the implementation of the second phase of the gas pressure reduction station to increase supplies to the local market to reach about 700 million cubic feet of gas per day.
